Spare Pair Privacy Policy

Spare Pair ("we," "our," "the app") is a vision magnification and reading-assistance app made by Mahdee Studios. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how you can control or delete it.

Information We Collect

Account information: name and email address, used to create and secure your account.

Prescription data: the SPH, CYL, AXIS, and ADD values you optionally enter, used only to calculate your personalized magnification level. This data never leaves our database for any purpose other than powering the app's zoom calculation for your own account.

Manual zoom preferences: stored locally and in your account if you choose manual zoom instead of entering prescription parameters.

Camera access: used only to power the live magnification feature. Camera video is processed on your device in real time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere.

Shared or pasted text (Reading Mode): text you share into the app, paste, or type is displayed on your device for magnified reading. It is not stored on our servers or sent anywhere else.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to operate the app's core features: authentication, saving your prescription and preferences, and calculating your personalized magnification. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following service providers to operate the app. Each only receives the minimum data needed to perform its function: Supabase for database, authentication, and backend hosting; Google / Apple Sign-In for authentication; and an email delivery provider to send verification emails.

Data Security & Children's Privacy

Your data is encrypted in transit and stored on infrastructure with industry-standard security practices. Access to your prescription and account data is restricted to your own authenticated session via database-level access controls. Spare Pair is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Data Ownership and Deletion

Your data belongs to you. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, in two ways:

In the app: go to Settings → Delete Account. After a short confirmation period, this immediately and permanently deletes your account, prescription data, and all saved settings.

Without the app installed: email support@mahdee.app from your account's registered email address requesting deletion. We will permanently delete your account and all associated data within 7 days and confirm by email once complete.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We retain no backup copies of deleted account data beyond what is legally required (e.g., financial records for tax purposes, kept only as long as required by law).
